Here is a copy of the letter we have received from Utopia Distribution with regards to their move from Cinram in Aylesbury to Utopia in Bicester. Basically, we won't be able to order product distributed by Utopia from from 9th August through to 28th August. IT IS ESSENTIAL ALL ORDERS FOR NEW RELEASES ARE PLACED AS SOON AS POSSIBLE. Whilst we currently carry around 11,000 lines it is likely we will sell out of some titles which will then be out of stock until after the 28th August. I would add that over the last 60 days we have dispatched over 85% of orders placed within 2 days.
UTOPIA DISTRIBUTION SERVICES – TRANSITION FROM AYLESBURY WAREHOUSE TO NEW BICESTER WAREHOUSE – FOR ALL PHYSICAL DISTRIBUTION
Dear Customer I am writing to inform you that UDS will be closing the current Aylesbury warehouse and moving our entire physical distribution to a brand new purpose built warehouse in Bicester. We are extremely excited about the move and also to partner with Syncreon (a DP World Company) who will run our new site under a 3PL arrangement. Both parties, DP World and UDS, want this arrangement to be as successful as possible and this starts with ensuring the transition is as smooth as it can be. With this in mind, we outline below our proposed approach and the key dates. In turn, all clients will be following up this communication. Cutover To allow the necessary changes to IT systems (including a full relocation of all IT servers) and relocation of all staff there will be a blackout period. During this blackout period UDS will have no system access and so all areas of the business are unable to operate. Orders - The last date for orders to be placed to be shipped out of Aylesbury is Wednesday 9 th August 2023, all orders need to be confirmed, billed and shipped by end of business Friday 11th August. The earliest date for orders to be placed and shipped out of Bicester is Tuesday 29th August 2023. Therefore, from Thurs 10th August – Mon 28 th August 2023 there is no opportunity to order product distributed by UDS. We would encourage you to speak with our clients to build inventory cover for this period. New releases within this black-out period will be managed as exceptions and everyone is working hard to minimise any disruption. You will be asked to place orders earlier than usual and may receive your new release orders outside of the standard schedule. Further communication regarding NR will follow. It is really important that if NR stock arrives in-store earlier than usual you adhere to your standard timelines with regards to making the stock available for sale.
