This superstar act now featured the much revered line up of the original guitar hero Ritchie Blackmore, keyboard great Jon Lord, power drummer Ian Paice, and new cohorts — the superlative Roger Glover on bass and soon to be superstar vocalist Ian Gillan. Deep Purple and their masterwork DEEP PURPLE IN ROCK truly paved the way for a lot of the hard rock and metal bands of today with the music contained on this legendary release.
As with our continuing expansion into the Deep Purple catalog, Friday Music is very proud to announce the first time 180 Gram Audiophile Vinyl release of the original U.S. version of DEEP PURPLE IN ROCK. This mega hard rock classic comes with all of the great tunes you remember like Speed King, Child In Time, Hard Lovin’ Man and Living Wreck.
Like our other fine Deep Purple releases, this classic has been mastered by Joe Reagoso (Deep Purple/Yes/Alice Cooper) from the original Warner Bros. tapes at Friday Music Studios and at Capitol Records in Hollywood, CA.
As another fine feature of this limited edition release, we have also included the original gatefold LP artwork, not seen since its original Warner Bros. vinyl release in 1970.
