Overview:
· Following performances at Glastonbury, Latitude and a headline slot at End Of The Road, the one-time Mercury nominee, critically-celebrated English troubadour Ed Harcourt begins a new chapter of his career with a mini album of tracks that are somewhat darker than we’ve heard from him before.
· There’s an air of malevolence to these tracks. Flickers of
Tom Waits, glimmers of James Blake and a smidgeon of Nine Inch Nails’ angelic moments, plus some Eels growl and a bit of Beck’s rummaging through hip hop beats.
· ‘Love Is A Minor Key’ was something Ed, in his day job as
a gun for hire, wrote for Ren Hervieu. ‘Love Is A Melody’
featured on her debut album. Ed also wrote and produced
the forthcoming Sophie Ellis-Bextor album.
· Guest vocalists Kathryn Williams and Megan Washington
appear on the record.
· Artwork photography by Steve Gullick.
· Released on the label run by the editor of Drowned in
Sound.
· ‘Time Of Dust’ is now being made available on vinyl.
