The latest instalment in the 40th Anniversary singles’ campaign, 7” picture disc of Sorrow
Originally released in October 1973, Sorrow was Bowie’s inimitable take on The MerseyBeats’ version of the song (originally released by The McCoys).
The single reached number 3 in UK, staying in the charts for 15 week, and also appeared on Bowie’s 1973 covers album, Pin Ups.
Bowie’s version is an exceptional interpretation of a great song, so successful it has superseded the original and become THE definitive version.
It will be available as a double A-side single, backed with a rare live version of Sorrow recorded at the Pacific National Coliseum, Vancouver, from David’s hugely successful Serious Moonlight Tour on 12th September 1983.
The single was mastered by Ray Staff at AIR Mastering.
