Mentor Daniel Barenboim led the forces of the Chicago Symphony Orchestra.In 2003 Deutsche Grammophon presented the debut album of a young Russian soprano who would become THE female opera star of our time: Anna Netrebko.Thielemann’s recording of Carl Orff’s popular Carmina Burana is one of the stunning documents of his work as General Music Director of the Deutsche Oper Berlin.For his debut recording with the Wiener Philharmoniker in 2000, Christian Thielemann chose Richard Strauss’ Alpine Symphony. This praised recording, which became classic in the meantime, is now available on vinyl for the first time.
