Overview:
"Isobel Waller-Bridge advances her innovative and boundary-pushing sounds, incorporating elements beyond traditional musical structures in the new album Objects. An experimental, ambient project focusing on objects including paper, glass, ball and shoe. Released in line with a soon-to-be-announced experimental music festival tour. This is a deeply ambient album born from a practice of close listening—of the world, of others, and of myself. I was guided by the philosophies of Pauline Oliveros, the textures and minimalism of La Monte Young, the embodied movement of Simone Forti, the raw intimacy of Robert Ashley’s Automatic Writing, and the tonal subtleties of Jon Gibson.
In making this work, I found the edges softening between voice and environment, between thought and texture. These pieces are simple, strange, and lovingly handmade—oddities that feel to me like small miracles. They reflect how I move through the world: with curiosity, with slowness, and with an openness to the unexpected music in everything. This album isn’t about performance—it’s about presence."
