Overview:

Formerly known for a highly successful career as an England cricketer, and more recently as a broadcaster, commentator and pundit - Mark Butcher has always held music at the centre of his life. Mark started playing guitar at thirteen and was already writing and playing live regularly before signing with Surrey County Cricket Club. He is influenced by the likes of Al Green, Robert Cray, Freddie King, Mavis Staples, Little Feat, Stevie Wonder, Small Faces, Eric Clapton and Bonnie Raitt - and his style is a blend of heartfelt blues and soul. Uncut Magazine said his debut album was “chock-full of soulful vocals and stinging guitar with funky twists and turns that hit the mark every time …quality stuff”. Mark now gigs regularly around the UK.
