Karajan & The Berliner Philharmoniker Mendelssohn & Bruch Violin Concertos Limited Vinyl LP

Overview:
The most famous conductor of his age, Karajan released over 300 albums for Deutsche Grammophon and enjoyed a long a fruitful partnership with the Berliner Philharmoniker. Three of their legendary recordings together are available again on vinyl. Strauss’ Ein Heldenleben (“A Hero’s Life”) (1959) was Karajan’s very first recording as the Berlin Philharmonic's music director, and his first post-war recording for Deutsche Grammophon. It marked the beginning of a long-lasting partnership and remains a reference Strauss recording. Karajan took the young Anne-Sophie Mutter under his wing in the early 1980s – one of the fruits of their partnership was their celebrated recording of Mendelssohn’s and Bruch’s famous violin concertos. Karajan’s Mahler “5” (1973) and Kindertotenlieder (1975) are presented for the first time in a 2-LP gatefold, with original liner notes and a download code for the libretto.
