Overview:

ALEXANDRE DIEGO GARY is a French writer based in Barcelona where he was born. He spent
his formative years in Paris with his Parents before returning to Barcelona. Diego is the only
son of the legendary French writer Romain Gary and American actress Jean Seberg. He
published his first novel S. ou l’espérance de vie in 2009 and then Monsieur in 2015, his latest
novel Le Dompteur de mouches, was published in 2017. Diego is working on several projects
: a collection of poems and a new novel which appears as a « work in progress » writing idea.
PETTER STAKEE hails from Uppsala, Sweden. He left for London in his teens where he
formed his previous band Alberta Cross. Shortly after forming they were signed to Fiction
and Geffen Records. They toured extensively for years internationally. They played festivals
such as; Coachella, Glastonbury and Fuji Rock Festival and toured with many artists
including Oasis, Neil Young, Them Crooked Vultures and Portugal The Man. After they
released their first record he relocated to Brooklyn, New York where he spent 8 years. He
left America for a brief stint in Berlin before returning to London where he now resides.
The music project between the writer Diego Gary and the musician Petter Stakee, began
when a common friend put them together in the studio to work on a tribute song for the
cinema festival at Filmoteca de Catalunya in Barcelona that was paying homage to Jean
Seberg (Diego’s mother). At that time Diego was living between Barcelona and Paris, and
Petter was living in New York City. After seeing the potential and success of the first
recordings, Diego and Petter decided to go on recording more songs. In order to approach
different vibes, they made recordings in studios in Barcelona, Berlin, Paris and Sweden over a
year long period. Most of the instruments are played by Petter Stakee, but also other
musicians from France, Sweden and Spain made their contributions. Diego wrote all the
lyrics and Petter wrote all the music and produced the album.
FRANCESC RUESTES made the sculpture that was photographed and used on the cover of
the record. He’s been a prolific artist throughout his career. His training, in the company of
masters such as Salvador Dalí, Joan Ponç, Josep Granyer and Joan Brossa, with whom he
had the opportunity to socialize, has decisively endowed Francesc Ruestes´ works with great
richness of privileged plastic and human experiences.
