Craig Armstrong It’s Nearly Tomorrow Limited 180gram Vinyl 2LP Set

Overview:
Acclaimed composer Craig Armstrong releases a new album, 'It's Nearly Tomorrow' October 13th on BMG/Chrysalis. This new collection, his first solo album in ten year, features guest vocals from Brett Anderson and Paul Buchanan.
This award winning composer (Grammy, BAFTA, Golden Globe) began writing 'It's Nearly Tomorrow' while in Australia working on Baz Luhrmann's “The Great Gatsby'. There are 17 tracks, 11 of which are instrumental, that comprise this beautiful new disc. “In an old fashioned way, I think it is an A to Z album, “ Craig explains. “Each track is informed by the track before it, and the end of the album makes particular sense if you listen from the beginning.”
Craig worked with long term Glasgow collaborators Paul Buchanan, Jerry Burns, James Grant and Katie O'Halloran. Other guests include Vladislav Delay (The Dolls), and Chris Botti on trumpet. The album was recorded all over the world: Glasgow, Babelsberg - Berlin, Prague, London, Sweden, Finland and Los Angeles.
Craig was born in Glasgow and at 17 came to London to attend the Royal Academy of Music. In 1994 he worked with Massive Attack on their seminal album 'Protection' and soon after released two landmark albums of his own on the band's Melankolic label. He has worked regularly with director Baz Luhrmann since the two collaborated on the film “Romeo + Juliet' for which Craig won both a BAFTA and an Ivor Novello for his score in 1996.
By 2001 the two had eclipsed previous achievements with 'Moulin Rouge!' for which he won another BAFTA and a Golden Globe. In 2005 Craig won a Grammy for Best Score for the Ray Charles bio-pic 'Ray' directed by Taylor Hackford. In 2014 Craig was nominated for a Grammy for 'The Great Gatsby' score.
The title, 'It's Nearly Tomorrow', is a reference both to dwindling time and the possibilities of a new dawn. “It's to do with looking back at life but it's also quite optimistic, dealing with things that are a little bit sad, but in a way that is honest and hopeful,” Craig explains. “I see it as quite a romantic album.”
Prepare to be smitten.
