KRISTER LINDER ACROSS THE NEVER Limited Vinyl LP

Overview:

His music sets the tone in award winning feature films. Global fashion giants such as H&M, Fendi, Agent Provocateur and Chanel battle it out and compete among themselves with his sound. But the man himself is not easily found. Now 13 years after the solo debut “Songs From the Silent Years,” sound alchemist Krister Linder resurfaces with a new album; self-produced in New York, mixed in Los Angeles and mastered in Stockholm.

With gold records and radio hits from various projects dating back as far as the late eighties, plus a substantial body of work in the 90’s Stockholm underground electronic era (under an array of pseudonyms like Tupilaq, Yeti, Solaroid etc), Linder has been a prominent but equally mysterious figure on the Swedish music scene. After winning the awards for Best Music For Film (for two consecutive years in a row) at the Stockholm International Film Festival, Linder in 2009 decides to sell his stuff and cross the Atlantic to subject himself to a whole new existence – in a land and city where he has neither a past, track record or advantage.

Inspired, clueless and armed only with the foolish trust of a poet, Linder rents an apartment overlooking Lower East Side Manhattan / New York. Here he is consumed and driven by an absurd dream: To let go of everything, begin from nothing, fully give in to the mystery & sometime return home with an album. And so the adventure begins.

Within a year he finds himself with mic in hand, on stage in the General Assembly Hall of the United Nations headquarters, opening for Beyoncé. Soon Linder’s voice thunders on world renowned DJ Sasha’s dance hit “Cut Me Down.” Suddenly Linder’s music is featured in adverts for one fashion giant after another. In 2012 the U.N. announces August 19 as the official World Humanitarian Day with one of his tracks booming from the screens of all Manhattan’s Yellow Cabs. Unreal? It was only the beginning. “My life is so surreal and saturated with miracles that I know we’re dreaming. My only task is to stay lucid.”

2014 Linder moves his base to Los Angeles, starts mixing the album and cutting its visuals. 2017 Linder is current with the Original Movie Soundtrack for director Tarik Saleh’s reputed film “The Nile Hilton Incident” (Winner of the World Cinema Grand Jury Prize: Dramatic, Sundance Film Festival). Same year Lily-Rose Depp fronts a Chanel no.5 advert with his track. In 2018 another Linder track is featured in a Coco Chanel advert starring Keira Knightley, and director Johan Renck (Bowie’s “Blackstar” & “Lazarus” videos) has Linder making the music for his H&M christmas holidays campaign, starring Nicki Minaj & Jesse Williams. And on it goes. But the man himself remains evasive. Until now.

His album ACROSS THE NEVER, ten years in the making, drops on Linder’s own label Ghostfriend, March 2019.
