RAMMSTEIN: THE RETURN
GERMANY’S MOST GLORIOUS ROCK BAND RELEASE NEW STUDIO ALBUM IN OCTOBER 2009, PRECEDED BY DOUBLE A-SIDE SINGLE…
RAMMSTEIN ARE BACK. Four years after the release of ‘Rosenrot’, their last studio outing, Germany’s most successful rock act have announced the release of a brand new album for October 2009.
With the title still to be confirmed, this latest release (the Berlin sextet’s sixth album since first coming together in the mid-’90s) is set to feature 11 new compositions, standard practice in the world of Rammstein, all of these overseen by Swedish producer Jacob Hellner and mixed by fellow Swede Stefan Glaumann, both regular contributors to the mighty Rammstein cause.
Over the past few months, a whole host of rumours have been circulating as to exact nature of the new material; there has been (unofficial) talk of black metal and even hip hop influences creeping in (!), but those who have heard the 11 tracks are now talking enthusiastically about a varied release in the classic Rammstein tradition – a release featuring some of the heaviest tracks the band have ever recorded.
Prior to the arrival of the new album, a double A-side single (titles to be confirmed) is set to surface in September on both CD and vinyl formats; in line with the Rammstein commitment to ultra high-end packaging, the CD will come as a limited edition digi-pack with a poster, whereas the vinyl (also strictly limited in number) will be issued in 7” & 12” forms, the 7” being etched and pressed on Viagra-blue vinyl.
Rammstein start a run of European dates in November of this year, with UK headline shows plus a possible major festival appearance in the pipeline for 2010.
WHAT RECORDS are pleased to announce that the Limited Edition 7 AND 12 Inch singles will be exclusively distributed by What Records!!!
