BLIND GUARDIAN Live Beyond The Spheres Limited Vinyl 4LP Box Set

Limited Edition 4 x Vinyl Box Set Even before the dawn of our space age, humanity had the audacity to conceive of ourselves as a life form not bound to the planet that birthed us. More than anything, leaving terra firma required all of our amassed knowledge, talent, and imagination. Such is the case with BLIND GUARDIAN, a band from Krefeld, Germany that refuses to be bound to the genre of music that spawned them and whose accumulated knowledge, talent, and imagination have created portals into senses beyond the five we experience in common, ordinary life. With that background established, prepare yourself for a trip that will overwhelm all your known senses and reveal something truly extraordinary. Greatly inspired by life experience, world myths, legends, and their own fervent creativity, metal's most epic storytellers BLIND GUARDIAN continually aspire to define themselves on a whole new level. Their orchestral tenth studio album 'Beyond The Red Mirror' ( and first UK Top 75 entry) successfully captured the scope of their essence with unprecedented accuracy. It was not a typical soundtrack or musical or rock opera. It was, simply, typical BLIND GUARDIAN, raising the bar on the gold standard trajectory the band had set themselves on when they first formed. Contemplating the band's extremely successful thirty-year plus career when asked to describe the band's guiding principles, guitarist Andre Olbrich shares: "We want to surprise and impress with our music. Nowadays, music tends to be arbitrary and predictable. But we want to keep developing our music." Their first live album since 2003's 'Live', with 'Live Beyond The Spheres', shows why BLIND GUARDIAN are so undeniably influential and absolutely without equal in the pantheon of heavy metal music. The new 3-CD package/4-LP package includes material recorded from 10 shows during their European tour in 2015 - old classics, new tracks as well as songs that are played very rarely live - when the band were performing a set lasting 2 hours and 15 minutes!. Vocalist Hansi Kürsch speaks about the difficulties in creating such an ambitious album: "In general I would say that we've had a really good run throughout this tour and that nearly every show was perfect. But at the end of the day, after every one of us had checked through every single song and concert of those 30 shows again and again, there was only something like two or three versions of each song that were suitable to be used for an album. We then had to decide between those final versions; which one the most impressive one was. This was a nearly endless task!" But as we all know, BLIND GUARDIAN stands for perfectionism in every way. "The final songs chosen contain such an energy, that tiny mistakes appeared to be completely unimportant. As soon as you listen to the songs, you will know what I mean, they feel completely alive". But in the end, the effort was all worth it. Hansi sums up: "There is always something happening at each show, let's call it 'MAGIC', that gives us all a shiver up our spine. We are really satisfied when people sing with us, have a good time and go back home happy."
