NEW STUDIO ALBUM ‘BLOODDRUNK’ SET FOR APRIL 14th
PRECEDED BY MULTI-FORMAT SINGLE, MAJOR LONDON
INSTORE PLUS SPINEFARM RECORDS UK LAUNCH EVENT…
CHILDREN OF BODOM, the Finnish five-man crew fronted by new breed guitar star Alexi
Laiho, will have their latest studio album released via the freshly-launched Spinefarm Records UK on April 14th 08.
The follow-up to 2005’s ‘Are You Dead Yet?’ studio outing and 2006’s double live album/DVD‘Stockholm Knockout Live’, this brand new offering – encouragingly titled ‘Blooddrunk’ – isalready emerging as one of the most hotly-anticipated metal releases of 08.
In support of ‘Are You Dead Yet?’, COB took to the road on a near non-stop basis, sharing
stages with the likes of Trivium & Slayer, after which the five switched straight back into writing &recording mode, calling upon the services of a tried an’ tested team to help them wring the verybest out of their new songs. For COB, the safest pair of studio hands has generally been MikkoKarmila, and once again the experienced Finn stepped forward to take charge of producing, recording & mixing duties, with Peter Tägtgren – an established performer/producer in his ownright – helping out with the keyboard & vocal parts. (Tägtgren was responsible for helming theband’s third ‘Follow The Reaper’ effort back in 2000).
The full tracklisting for ‘Blooddrunk’ is now confirmed as follows:-
Hellhounds On My Trail
One Day You Will Cry
Smile Pretty For The Devil
Tie My Rope
(a new version of a track that recently featured on the Ferret
Records/Bam Margera compilation ‘Viva La Bands Vol. 2’)
Done With Everything, Die For Nothing
Banned From Heaven
The UK version of ‘Blooddrunk’ will come complete with twobonus tracks, including the classic ‘Ghost Riders In The Sky’, asong written back in the late ’40s and previouslycovered byJohnny Cash.
THE FIRST single from the new album is scheduled for releaseon March 3rd 08; this will be the track ‘Blooddrunk’ itself, and itwill be available across 3 formats – Enhanced CD (featuring the‘Blooddrunk’ video), limited edition blood red vinyl 7” & limitededition 12” pic disc. The latter will be restricted to just 666numbered copies.
Five days after the release of the single, on Saturday, March 8th, COB will be headlining the AstoriaTheatre in London as part of a special launch event for Spinefarm Records in the UK, organised inconjunction with Metal Hammer magazine. Fellow Spinefarm artist Moonsorrow & Kiuas willalso be appearing on the bill, and this one-off show (which will come complete with Spinefarmgiveaways and competitions) is now completely sold-out.
