Mail Delays Update From Royal Mail

Royal Mail Daily Operational Customer Statement Banner
Covering the 24hr period to 0800 on Wednesday 30 March 2016 and any anticipated service issues.

Operational general synopsis
The Royal Mail network generally operated well yesterday, however there are some issues to report. We'll update our Service Update web pages throughout the day with any new information or service-affecting issues that arise today.

Mails network and distribution
Air, rail and road
High volumes of mail and technical issues affected three of our flights yesterday. This may mean a small amount of mail may arrive later than expected as follows:

Posted in the far south west of England for delivery in parts of Wales, the Midlands and north of England
Posted in London and the south of England for delivery in parts of Central and Southern Scotland
Posted in North East Scotland, Orkneys and Shetland Isles for delivery in parts of Central and Southern Scotland
Technical issues delayed a rail service yesterday. This may mean a small amount of mail posted in parts of Scotland for delivery in North Wales and the north of England today will arrive later than planned.

Two vehicles arrived late at our National Distribution Centre yesterday. This may mean a small amount of mail posted in the BB, BR, CR, FY, LA, PR, SE and SM postcode areas for delivery across the UK today will arrive later than scheduled.

Deliveries and collections
Mail deliveries and collections were performed in all areas yesterday and we'll be out delivering and collecting mail in all areas today.

Mail Centre processing
Mail Centres generally operated to schedule yesterday. However, issues at our Cardiff and Southampton Mail Centres may mean a small amount of mail posted in the CF, LD, NP, PO, SO and SP postcode areas for delivery in other parts of the UK today will arrive later than planned.
