| The Ultimate version, The Song Remains the Same, Epanded & Remastered 4 x 180gram LP Box Set+T-Shirt S. Led Zeppelin’s sold-out concert tours became rituals of high-energy rock and roll theater. The Song Remains The Same attests to the group’s powerful and somewhat saturnalian appeal at the height of their popularity. - From the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame’s web page on the band’s 1995 induction. The Hall of Fame’s assessment of the legendary band also states, ‘Led Zeppelin redefined rock in the Seventies and for all time. They were as influential in that decade as the Beatles were in the prior one. Then and now, Led Zeppelin looms larger than life on the rock landscape as a band for the ages with an almost mystical power to evoke primal passions.’ That power is communicated full-force in the updated, 4LP (and 2CD) reissue of the soundtrack to their concert film The Song Remains The Same. First released in 1976, the recording captures a celebrated three-night stand at NYC’s Madison Square Garden in July 1973. The newly updated edition now contains six songs not featured on the original release, and the entire project was remixed and remastered with the band members’ direct oversight. Featuring liner notes by Oscar winning director and former Rolling Stone editor Cameron Crowe. - 4-LP edition of the soundtrack to the landmark concert film originally released in 1976, on 180 gram audiophile vinyl. - Features performances from the band’s three-night stint at Madison Square Garden in July 1973 - Remastering Supervised by Jimmy Page Half Speed Mastering by Stan Riicker - Updated soundtrack includes six songs that were not on the original release: Black Dog, Over The Hills And Far Away, Misty Mountain Hop, Since I’ve Been Loving You, The Ocean, and Heartbreaker. - Deluxe archival 2-piece box with embossing and foil-stamping includes 24-page oversized full-colour booklet with dozens of previously unpublished photos and 4 individual jackets with new and unique artwork.
