Release Date: 07 July 2008
Format: CD Single
The face and voice of one of the biggest British bands of recent times, Sharleen Spiteri releases her stunning solo debut album, Melody through Mercury Records on July 14th 2008. The Teaxs front-woman precedes the album with the pop-fabulous single ‘All The Times I Cried’ on July 7th.
Sharleen takes complete artistic control on Melody to write and produce what she calls "my ultimate personal fantasy record". Melody is a musically stylish, lyrically powerful album which boasts a blinding array of pop gems; the infectious forthcoming second single ‘It Was You’ (performed on Later with Jools Holland), the ‘50s flavoured ‘Don’t Keep Me Waiting’ and her most Motown moment yet, ‘Stop I Don’t Love You Anymore’.
The campaign kicked off with a performance on Later With Jools Holland in May and a live session on Dermot O'Leary's Radio 2 show. On the back of this media launch the single was serviced to radio and the album was serviced to press, with a fanastic reception.
Four weeks before it's physical release the single 'All The Times I Cried' is the highest climber on the airplay chart and the most played unreleased record at ILR. The same week it has been added straight to the B-lists at Magic FM and Capital FM as well as the hallowed A-list at Radio 2, having already been Record Of the Week there. Sharleen will perform live for a session on Ken Bruce's show during the week of album release.
